I'm justified in hating this person--they hurt me. They gossiped about me. I didn't know Christians would act like this. How can God love the people that hurt me?Sound familiar?Lauren’s first book I Want to Move On: Break Free from Bitterness and Discover Freedom in Forgiveness digs into the pain of being hurt, the narratives we tell ourselves to stay angry and bitter, and how to truly move on. Her book is honest, authentic, validating, and inspiring. During this episode, Lauren will be sharing insights from the book as well as her own personal faith journey. If you’re stuck in pain, anger, and bitterness from a past hurt or betrayal, tune in, and make sure to go buy her book once it comes out!

I’m not going to lie to y’all and tell you I have it all figured out. I don’t! But I have learned a thing or two in the first 25 years of my life. Here’s a compilation of some of the most important lessons I’ve learned, all of which I wish I knew when I was a teenager. A couple favorites:
How you talk to yourself MATTERS.

Worry less about what other people think about you and the life you’re building, and more about what YOU think about it.

Foreboding joy doesn’t lessen pain or suffering. It just takes away the joy.

This week, we're talking about the death of Matthew Perry, his life, and what we can learn from his legacy. We'll discuss the importance of being kind to others and having grace for the mental load each person is carrying, and how, sometimes, that heavy mental load causes people to behave in interesting ways (like pulling your hair at your locker when you're a sophomore in high school). True story. Tune in to hear the rest!

Situationships

Saturday Oct 28, 2023

Saturday Oct 28, 2023

This week we're jumping into situationships, key red flags to look for, why they're so common, and how to deal with them. Trust me, we've all been there! If you have more questions or want to discuss one-on-one, feel free to DM me or message me through my website!

This week, Biologist (and my best friend), Jessie Johnson is joining T4YT to walk through the 4 phases of the female cycle, different types of birth control, sex, and more!Note: For younger audiences, I recommend listening to the first ~21 minutes. This is where we discuss the female cycle. In the second half of the episode, we cover birth control and sex. All commentary made is the personal opinion of the speaker and not medical advice. I highly recommend continuing this discussion with your mother, guardian, OBGYN or trusted adult.

This week, we're focusing on who God is and our relationship with Him. We'll be reading John 11:1-44, so if you want to open your Bible or search it online to follow along, I highly encourage you to do so! This story tells us a lot about Jesus' love for us, His empathy for us, and how He meets us where we're at.

Dealing with ”Frenemies”

Saturday Oct 07, 2023

Saturday Oct 07, 2023

I'm pretty sure we can all think of someone we'd call a "frenemy." She's not overtly mean enough to be a bully, but she's just passive aggressive enough that we know she's probably more happy than sad when we hit roadblocks in our lives. So, how do we deal with these kinds of women? Tune in to find out!

We often use "our best" and "perfect" interchangeably, but there's actually a really big difference between the two. This week's episode digs into the difference and gives some guidance on how to navigate the pressure to be perfect!

This wasn't the planned episode for this week, but things just kind of "clicked" in my head (or my heart, I suppose), and I knew this was the story I had to share. Today's episode begins a little heavy, but I promise it turns into a very positive, optimistic and uplifting episode (similar to the Easter story, no?). Basically, this is an episode about pain, suffering, healing and hope, and how I particularly found the latter through the Lenten season this year. If you're not Christian/Catholic, that's totally okay! I briefly explain what Easter and Lent are at the beginning of the episode, so you'll be up-to-speed in no time.TW:1. Depression2. Self-care & Self-compassion

Saturday Apr 01, 2023

Saturday Apr 01, 2023

When I think of self-care, I initially think of fancy wine-nights with my girls while we chat, do facemasks, and snack on a charcuterie board. And there's nothing wrong with that! That's totally a form of self-care. But, there are a lot of other things that contribute to self-care, too--some that are fun, and some that are a little more tough but that benefit us in the long run. We cover all these ideas in this episode and also talk about how to implement self-care and self-compassion into our routine so that they're not reactive fix-it-actions when we feel burnt out. After all, when we're burnt out or stressed, we default to our routines and habits. Let's make sure they're good ones.
